Oktoberfest in Sydney!

Oktoberfest is here! Not all of us can fork out the dollar bills to catch a plane to Germany. Luckily, there are plenty of events in Sydney that will satisfy our sausage feasting and beer-drinking needs.

Finding the Oktoberfest Prince and Princess

Where: Löwenbräu Keller

When: 6-8pm, 2 October

Situated in the prime location of The Rocks, Löwenbräu Keller is a the place to find your Oktoberfest prince or princess. They will be hosting the Sydney finals where the winner will travel to Melbourne to compete for $5000 Cash!


Jägermeister Party

Where: Bavarian Bier Café, York St.

When: 6-11pm, 3 October 2014.

The Bavarian Bier Cafes across Sydney (from Bondi to Manly, Crows Nest to Parramatta) are the best venues to be at for this year’s Oktoberfest, serving up traditional German foods and lots and lots of beer.

But the York St venue is one to watch out for, hosting the legendary Jägermeister Party where the Jäger Pop Up bar will be back, serving ice cold Flying Stags and  Jägermeister Rudi Shots!

The Ivy’s Oktoberfest Party

Where: The Ivy

When: 9pm – late, 15 October 2014.

The Ivy is known for being one of the classiest clubs in Sydney. This year they’ll be hosting 1500 students from all of Sydney’s main universities and colleges, as they dance the night away with beers ($5 before 11pm) in hand. The music looks promising with DJs Minx and Social Hooligans, Jonski and others taking to the stage.

Oktoberfest in the Blue Mountains

Where: Carrington Hotel

When: 11am-9pm, 25 October 2014.

If you feel like escaping the chaos of Sydney city, or want a more family friendly event to go to, the blue mountains is a great place to spend a weekend away. You’ll be surrounded by the tranquility of mountains and clean air while also having a great event to attend for Oktoberfest. The Carrington in Katoomba is hosting locals and visitors alike with live local music, traditional German food, beers and even a jumping castle for the kids!

Oktoberfest is a month of feasting, vibrant conversations and great music. All across Sydney, there are places where you’ll be able to make a wonderful ruckus.
